Juan Hernandez is no stranger to the Houston A+ Challenge network. In 2009, he was one of five students nationally to be awarded the Leonore Annenberg College Scholarship by The Annenberg Foundation (the original funder of Houston A+ Challenge). Currently a second-year sociology major at Rice University, Mr. Hernandez is an alumnus of Houston ISD's Reagan High School, where he graduated third in his class with a GPA of 3.5 and was a member of the National Honors Society. Currently he is involved in student clubs like the Hispanic Association for Cultural Enrichment at Rice (HACER) and the school's Habitat for Humanity student chapter. His future plans include attending graduate school for sociology.

What do you obsessively collect?
Discounted food items and Rice t-shirts (8 collected in one year!)

What world problem would you solve?
Development of clean and renewable energy resources

Holding my breath for a long period of time
