“Being challenged in life is inevitable. Being defeated is optional.”
– Roger Crawford
Lindsey Pollock brings nine years of teaching experience and 11 years of administrative experience to the Regional Principal Leadership Academy. She moved to the Houston area in 1982 after spending time traveling abroad with Up With People, a student performing arts group and cultural immersion program, and singing opera in Norway. She served as a private school principal, but says she was “drawn to the public sector, where I felt my desire for equity in education could be utilized.” She earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. This together with her teaching credentials gave her a unique perspective as a teacher in Houston ISD and as a school social worker in Galena Park ISD. She served as the PTO president for Houston ISD's Middle College for Technology Careers, where one of her sons attended. Lindsey traveled nationally as an education consultant for a private consulting firm before returning to HISD's Park Place Elementary where she has worked as an Assistant Principal since 2004. She and her husband share five grown children and recently became grandparents. In her spare time, Lindsey continues to volunteer with the Sam Houston Area Boy Scouts and sings with the Houston Choral Showcase.
