Jhacole LeGrand is a native Houstonian and has served as a high school English Language Arts, Journalism and Speech teacher in the Houston Independent School District for five years. Prior to joining Houston ISD, Jhacole taught Advanced Placement English for Houston Gateway Academy, a Houston-area charter school. Jhacole graduated from Houston ISD’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Houston Downtown, and earned her Master of Education Administration degree from Texas Southern University. As a product of Houston schools, Jhacole says she feels “not only a connection, but a responsibility to my city and its education system.”
