For the past four years, Alfred James has served as Assistant Principal at Shotwell Academy in Aldine ISD, where he supervised the math department, served as liaison to the community and sponsored the mentoring program for young men. He was selected to participate in Aldine’s LEAD (Leadership Experience Academics Determination) program for aspiring principals after five years in the classroom. Alfred began his education career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he taught choir, piano, music and art history. He joined Aldine ISD as Assistant Choir Director at Eisenhower Senior High School and transferred to Eisenhower Ninth Grade School as Choir Director. Alfred received his bachelor’s degree in music from Xavier University of Louisiana and his master’s degree in music from Michigan State University. He continued graduate studies in Educational Leadership and received his principal certification from Texas Southern University. Alfred has nine years of experience in the field of education and hopes to inspire more students to become the next generation of future educators.
